These
looms are built of solid hardwood and are finished like all Firesides, to
fine furniture quality. We've scaled the frame to maximize weaving space
without restricting the weaver's movements. The Cantilever is made in
24", 36" and 48" weaving widths. If you want to put it in your
car, detach the leg unit from the frame and slide it in, warp and all.

JUST DEVELOPED - the FOUR SHAFT Cantilever loom using a countermarche system.
Each shaft is either pulled open or pulled back when a treadle is depressed. This is accomplished with a pulley and cord system that is color coded to simplify tie up. The tension on both upper and lower warp ends is the same and the action is easy. Comes with 6 treadles.

Harnesses
on two shaft models are counterbalanced with leveraged rocker arms, so the
full five inch shed is easy enough for a child to open and keep open. Enough
Texsolv heddles to weave 12 ends per inch are included. You'll appreciate the
"breakaway" harness and reed assembly. By loosening the
thumb screws holding the reed frame in place, the reed and harness assembly
pivot to a vertical position. This allows you to then sley the reed and
harnesses conveniently at the loom. A reed keeps your warp evenly spaced
while the cartoon holder mounted behind the reed displays your design.
The
Cantilever Vertical Beater was introduced this summer as an
option for new looms or a retrofit for older looms. Captured in a parallel
rule, the beater moves vertically, strikes your web at 90 degrees and packs
weft face easily. The counterweight economizes on packing energy and returns
the beater to rest after each stroke. Accessory rail required for
installation.

stout beams are engineered for stress. The warp beam for 36" and
48" looms, is locked in place with parallel synchronized brass gears and
pawls. The warp is advanced with a crank within easy reach. You will
appreciate the bronze worm gear with a 50:1 ratio for ultimate tension
control and leverage.

The
Cantilever Bench is ergonomically designed to provide critical back support
with a lumbar radius that engages your spine and reduces fatigue. Slatted
construction makes sense for your active weaving. It's springy and breathes,
enhancing your circulation. The bench spans the width of your loom so you can
sit in front of each part of your tapestry, yet nests inside the loom to save
space when you're not weaving. Available in 24" and 40" widths.
