Carvings

Custom carvings on the beater or castle add an artistic personal touch to your loom. We work with Stanley, a skilled carver, to bring your design ideas into full relief. Carvings may be completed while looms are being built, or at a later date by shipping the part to Fireside. Average full beater carving- $450

Custom Design Work

Part of Fireside's commitment to innovation includes creating looms that fit individual needs. Through engineering, we have developed looms for weavers with varying physical sizes and abilities. Adjustments for living spaces have also been made.

House calls for loom retrofits, repairs

We can do on-site repairs, replacement of parts and retrofits if several people in the same area can arrange to have the work done at the same time. (We must be contacted regarding specific needs in advance).

We often combine upgrade and retrofit tours with trips to conferences. If you live within a day's drive from one of the conference locations and are interested in improvements to your loom, please contact us at least a month before the conference.

Ask us about fixing or upgrading your other loom(s) and accessories to perform even better. We work on all types and makes of looms and equipment.

Reconditioning, Resale of Used Fireside Looms

If you are considering selling a used Fireside loom, reconditioning will enhance its value. Fireside Fiberarts will inspect your loom, detail the finish, tighten the fasteners, remove corrosion, lubricate moving parts and make minor repairs. An agreed upon fee (usually $300) depending on the size and condition of your loom, and a 15 percent resale commission will be deducted from the sales price. When we are finished with your loom, it will be warranted with our 2-year guarantee (the same as our new looms).

Crating and Shipping

Fireside Fiberarts will provide crating services at our shop for the seller or buyer.

  • Jack loom $295
  • Cantilever loom 24" & 36" $195
  • Cantilever loom 48" $225
  • Traditional tapestry loom $395.
